You can say that HDFC Bank is one of the best and customer-friendly banks in India. With HDFC Bank, this process of transferring accounts is more straightforward than you think. Below you will find details about the necessary documents and the steps to help you successfully transfer your HDFC Bank account to another branch.

HDFC Bank Branch Transfer

Necessary documents to transfer HDFC Bank account to another branch.

  • HDFC Bank Transfer Application

You can find this application online. This application is a request to the Branch Manager that says about your wish to transfer the account. It will state the current details of your account and the details of the Branch you want to transfer to. Make sure that you fill in the correct details in the form.

  • Address proof

For this process, a self-attested photocopy of the address proof is necessary. Documents like passport, voter ID, and Aadhaar card are suitable for this.

  • PAN card photocopy

A photocopy of the account holder’s PAN card with attestation is also mandatory.

Steps for an easy branch-to-branch transfer of HDFC bank account

Once you have the above documents ready, follow the below steps.

  • Initiate the request in the home branch

The first thing that you need to do is to visit your bank account’s branch. You need to request the initiation of the branch transfer process personally.

  • Submit bank transfer application

You need to provide the HDFC bank transfer application with your correct details in your home branch. Make sure to give accurate information about where you want to transfer your account.

  • Submit KYC documents

Photocopies of attested address and identity proof must be present along with the transfer application. Make sure that you don’t forget your PAN card. Once the documentation is ready, the bank will start the verification process. After that, they will start the transfer of your account. This can take 2-3 business days.

  • Visit the new branch

You will get confirmation from your old branch about the account transfer. Once you get it, you need to visit your new branch personally.

  • Note the new branch’s IFSC code

Once everything is complete, make sure to get the IFSC code of the new branch.

Final words

The bank account transfer process may seem like a tough one, but it’s not. With a little preparation on your part, you can finish everything within 15 minutes.
