For getting the subsidized food benefits in India, the document which you will need is the Ration Card. The distribution of the ration card is done by the state government’s food department. Every family is given different types of ration card depending on their income status. All the family members name is there in the ration card along with the name of the head of the family. But there is process available to remove or add a members name from the card if there is death in the family or any other valid reason. There are both online and offline processes for that. How To Delete/Add Your Name in Ration Card Online and Offline

Online Process:

  • First of all, you need to login to the ration card website of your respective state.
  • If you do not have the login credentials, you need to sign up first.
  • You will get the form of addition and deletion of names in the website.
  • You have to fill it up with proper details as wrong details may reject your application.
  • The details of addition or deletion is must. For death you can enter the details of the death certificate or any letter from authority as proof. In case of addition you can add the birth certificate of letter from authority for residential proof.
  • The of documents is available in the website. You can check from there and upload accordingly.
  • After the submission of the application, you will get a reference number generated by the system. The number can be used afterwards for checking the status of your application.
  • Within 1 month you will get the new ration card with added or deleted names at your registered address via post.

Offline Process:

  • You have to visit the Ration Food Supplier shop of the area.
  • You will get there form for addition or deletion of names.
  • The form must be filled carefully and the name must be added which is to be added or deleted along with the reason of addition or deletion.
  • All the documents must be provided to the office by the head of the family along with the form. Like for death, you can enter the details of the death certificate or any letter from authority as proof. In case of addition you can add the birth certificate of letter from authority for residential proof.
  • The verification of all the documents provided and the form will be done. After the verification, your form will be submitted and you will get a reference number.
  • The number can be used afterwards for checking the status of your application online.
  • Within 1 month you will get the new ration card with added or deleted names at your registered address via post.
